About Ashley

Ashley Brown

Owner of Sosocii, Sosocii Connect and Thankful Timber

Throughout highschool I was torn between heading down the road of business and marketing or teaching. At the end of the day I decided to go down the education pathway, studying a Bachelor of Education and teaching for almost 5 years. I really enjoyed teaching, however I made the big jump into the business world after the birth of my first daughter back in 2012. I found myself looking for a more flexible work/life balance, something that would be predominantly online and that I could do in the evenings hours as required.

So I moved into administration and marketing for a local fashion business. I really enjoyed creating the content and the thrill of the business element I was now exploring, which was different to what I had been experiencing in teaching. I became really passionate about business and networking and once I had built up my confidence, I then went out on my own and created Sosocii. I continued to do some courses to further develop my skills.

5 years on and I still feel very inspired by the ever evolving nature of the business sector. I get a massive thrill out of engaging with other business owners when I facilitate various local networking events. I love that we can work together to support each other’s ambitions. I have a particular passion for working with other mums in business and I run the Yarra Valley chapter of StartUp Mum. I also run a Facebook networking group called Sosocii- Social networking for Australian businesses with over 800 members.

I love the variety of work I get to engage in and really appreciate the diverse industries I’ve been lucky enough to partner with. My day to day workload varies from drafting copy for websites, apps and blogs to creating detailed social media campaigns and corresponding content.

It is my passion for business growth for both my own businesses and those of my clients, that sees me replying to emails at midnight if need be. My clients enjoy having someone else to bounce ideas off and to delegate tasks to therefore freeing themselves up to focus on their core business. There is a great deal of satisfaction in providing relief for busy small business owners, thus minimising their stress and workload whilst also delivering a focused and friendly service.
